In the beginning, there was a small stall at a market or 3. This went on for quite a few years, and a great, steady client base was established. Eventually, tired of packing up all the product, changing wrappings and labels often due to damage in transit, it was decided to start a shop, and stop going to the markets.
The decision made is to include other people who handmade wonderful products, including chocolates, confectionery, candles, wheatpacks, cards, jewellery, clutch purses and flowers. From time to time, it is imagined that product lines will change, but the general idea is to have an outlet for handmade product made locally in Brisbane.
3rd June 2011 Started refurbishing the shop today, with new floor coverings down. Paint, skirtings comes next, followed by furniture ! Not a lot of room, but will use book cases to make the most of what we have
We are now 1/2 way through July, and the shop is open for business! The hours are Wed to Fri, 10 til 6 pm, Sat and Sun 8 to 12.
We have some fantastic candles by Marcelle Phillips, some delicious handmade confectionary by Evie Fulton, some award winning baby knitting by Jan Fernando, and crocheting, cards and miscellaneous by Cheryl. We have had plenty of interest, with visitors almost daily for the last few weeks. It is very exciting,and an honour for me to be able to stock such lovely handmade items.
Pretty soon we will be stocking jewellery by JuzziJane and also by Val Clark. So much to choose from, come have a look at our cabin
